CANBERRA PRESCHOOLERS, WE NEED YOUR HELP!

We are looking for preschoolers (4 or 5 year olds) living in the Canberra area to help with a study investigating how preschool children listen to sounds and learn words.

Children who can read well often have good vocabularies. They learn many of their words before they start school. Children who have good listening skills often also develop good vocabularies. We want to find out:

1. What types of speech sounds are easier for children to hear in words?
2. What helps children learn new words?
3. Is the clarity of a child’s speech related to their ability to listen to sounds and learn words?
