what are the best baby foods?

basics when weaning –
mashed carrots
mashed potatoes
mashed cauliflower
well cooked broccoli
avocados (good mixed with cottage cheese or banana)
lentil dahl
beans (if using tins, make sure they are low/no salt options)
watermelon (any melon really)
yogurt (high fat variety)

good finger foods –
well cooked corn on the cob (this one works well in the pram as it isn’t so messy)
toast soldiers or bagel with spreads (sugar free jams, butter and vegemite or cream cheese)
rice crackers (baby food isle) with cottage cheese and cinnamon)
mini vegeburgers or well cooked sausages
fruit chunks (soft fruits threaded onto a drinking straw)
